# Export your data

> Download the data of your workspace, or the data about you, from the dashboard.

You can download the data that Paperlink AI keeps at any time, without a request to support. An Admin can export the full workspace, and each person can download the data about them.

## Export the workspace

> [!NOTE]
>
> Only workspace Admins can export the workspace. Members see the card without the button.

**1. Open Settings**

Select **Settings** in the dashboard sidebar.

**2. Start the export**

In the **Export workspace data** card, select **Export workspace data**.

**3. Wait for the email**

Paperlink AI prepares a ZIP file in the background. You can close the page. When the file is ready, we send you an email.

**4. Download the file**

Open **Settings** again. In the **Export workspace data** card, select **Download ZIP**.

The email tells you that the file is ready. It does not contain workspace data or a download link. You must sign in as an Admin to download the file.

> [!NOTE]
>
> You can export a workspace 3 times in 24 hours, and only one export runs at a time. A download link in the dashboard works one time, for 5 minutes. Select **Download ZIP** again to get a new link. We delete the ZIP file 7 days after it is ready.

### What the ZIP file contains

The ZIP file uses open formats: JSON, CSV and your original documents. The file `README.txt` in the ZIP file explains each file.

| File | Contents |
| - | - |
| `organization.json` | Workspace settings, support contact, plan and subscription status |
| `bots.json` | Widget settings, starter questions, allowed origins and your chat icon |
| `members.json`, `members.csv` | Members, their roles and their email preferences |
| `api-keys.json`, `api-keys.csv` | The name, prefix, status and dates of each API key. The keys are not in the file. |
| `documents.json`, `documents.csv` | Each document with its status, knowledge pages and dates |
| `files/` | The original documents that you uploaded |
| `website-sources.json`, `website-pages.csv` | Your imported websites and the list of their pages |
| `conversations.json`, `messages.csv` | All widget and Playground conversations, with their sources and the ratings of your visitors |
| `unanswered-questions.csv` | The questions that the bot could not answer |
| `support-requests.json` | The support requests: conversations that visitors sent to your support team, with the email address, note and status |
| `activity-log.json` | Workspace activity, for example uploads and changes to settings |

The export does not contain the text that Paperlink AI extracts from your documents, or the search index. Paperlink AI makes them again from your original documents.

## Download your own data

Each person in the workspace can download the data that Paperlink AI keeps about them.

**1. Open Account**

Select **Account** in the dashboard sidebar.

**2. Download the file**

In the **Your data** card, select **Download my data**. Your browser saves a JSON file.

The file contains your profile, your workspaces and roles, your email preferences, the emails that we sent you and your newsletter status. It also contains your own Playground chats in the workspace that is open now. To get your chats in a different workspace, switch to that workspace first.

## Delete data

* Delete a document in the dashboard. Read [Delete a document](https://paperlinkai.com/docs/guides/documents/delete.md) for the steps.
* The dashboard has no control to delete a workspace or an account. Email [support@paperlinkai.com](mailto:support@paperlinkai.com) and ask for deletion.
