# Sign-in security

> See how Paperlink AI checks a new browser and how to sign out of a device.

Paperlink AI checks each new browser that signs in with a password. If another person learns your password, the check stops them and you get an email.

## Codes for new browsers

When you sign in with your email and password in a new browser, we send a 6-digit code to your email. Type the code to finish the sign-in.

**1. Sign in with your password**

Type your email and your password, then select **Sign In**.

**2. Open the email**

Find the email with the 6-digit code. If the email does not arrive, look in your spam or junk folder. You can also wait 30 seconds and select **Resend code**.

**3. Type the code**

Type the code and select **Verify**. The dashboard opens.

Paperlink AI remembers each browser where you entered a code. In that browser, you do not need a code again. A different browser, a private window or cleared browser data counts as new, so you get a code again. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we do not send a code.

After a sign-in in a new browser, we also send a "New device signed in" email. The email shows the browser, the system and the approximate location of the device.

> If you get a code or a "New device signed in" email and you did not sign in, another person knows your password. Do not share the code. Reset your password, then sign out of your other devices.

## Sign out of a device

**1. Open Security**

Open **Security** in the dashboard sidebar.

**2. Find the device**

In **Active sessions**, each row shows the browser, the approximate location and the last activity. The row with **This device** is the device that you use now.

**3. Sign out**

Select **Sign out** on the row. To sign out of all devices except this one, select **Sign out of all other devices**.

The device that you use now stays signed in. Each person in the workspace sees only their own devices.
