# Privacy, retention and deletion

> Where your data lives, how long Paperlink AI keeps it, and how to delete it.

Paperlink AI stores your documents and your visitors' conversations so the bot can answer. This page explains where the data lives, how long it stays, and how you delete it.

## Where your data lives

Our infrastructure and most of our providers are in the United States. Your documents, extracted text and chats are stored on Cloudflare. They are encrypted at rest.

## What Paperlink AI stores

* Your documents and the text that Paperlink AI extracts from them.
* The questions and answers in the widget and in the Playground.
* Usage data, such as the number of replies and knowledge pages that your workspace uses.

If a visitor sends a conversation to your support team, Paperlink AI also handles the email address and the note that the visitor enters.

## Not used for training

We never use your documents or conversations to train AI models. The AI providers that process them for us don't train on them either.

## How long Paperlink AI keeps your data

* Documents stay while your workspace is active, until you delete them.
* Widget conversations stay while the workspace is active. Email support to delete them. You can delete your own Playground chats in the dashboard.
* A deleted document is removed from our active systems promptly.
* Backups expire within 30 days.

> There are no retention settings in the dashboard today.

## Delete your data

### Delete a workspace

The dashboard has no control to delete a workspace. Email [support@paperlinkai.com](mailto:support@paperlinkai.com) and ask for deletion.

## Your rights and our timelines

| Request or event | Our commitment |
| - | - |
| Access, correct, delete or export your personal data | We answer within 30 days. |
| A data breach that affects you | We notify you within 72 hours. |
| A new subprocessor | We give 30 days' notice before it starts. |

If your data is in a customer's widget or documents, we pass your request to that customer. Email your request to [support@paperlinkai.com](mailto:support@paperlinkai.com).
